Sometimes these encounters help you fight against baddies, and sometimes they’re a friendly battle to see who’s the stronger trainer! Of course, if you chose the female protagonist at the beginning of the game, Dawn herself, you’d have Lucas as your rival instead.

These battles against Dawn throughout the game are fairly easy and should not be much of a challenge for you. There is, however, a way for you to fight Dawn’s ultimate team in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl that is really going to push you to your limit as a Pokemon trainer.

How to Battle Dawn’s Ultimate Team In Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Dawn’s battle with her final and toughest team is locked to the post-game of Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. The step-by-step process below will show you how to face Dawn’s ultimate team:

  1. Beat the Elite Four and Champion of the game.
  2. Unlock the National Dex.
  3. Rematch the Elite Four and Champion, and beat them.
  4. Head to Sandgem Town.
  5. Speak to Dawn outside Professor Rowan’s Lab.
  6. Speak to Dawn again on a weekend to battle her.

Do note that you can battle Dawn even if you skip the step of rematching the Elite Four; however, her team will be slightly weaker, and won’t be her ultimate team.

Depending on the starter you’ve chosen, there are three variants of Dawn’s ultimate team. They are as follows:

If you picked Turtwig: Togekiss, Bellossom, Mamoswine, Typholosion, Lopunny, Empoleon.

If you picked Piplup: Honchkrow, Gorebyss, Froslass, Sceptile, Ambipom, Infernape.

If you picked Chimchar:  Crobat, Arcanine, Mr. Mime, Blastoise, Lickilicky, Torterra.

All of Dawn’s Pokemon in her ultimate battle range from levels 68-74, so be fully prepared before you come for this fight!
