Vanillaware may not be among the most popular Japanese development studios, but there is no denying that they know how to create compelling games with complex storylines like Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir and a few others. But if you thought that this game was complex, with its multi-character narrative, wait until you experience 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, the studio’s latest game which has now finally made its way onto the Nintendo Switch.
With the game featuring so many characters and interconnected storylines, one would expect 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim to take a long time to complete, but that is not exactly the case. Here’s how long it takes to complete the game.
13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim: How Long to Beat
13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim is among the most complex games, when it comes to narrative, ever made by Vanillaware, but this complexity doesn’t result in an extremely long play time.
Being more of a visual novel with strategy battles rather than a traditional Japanese role-playing game, 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim takes around 25 hours to complete. There will be times when you will have to switch between different points of view, but you will hardly get stuck in the game unless you are having trouble completing some of the battles in Destruction Mode that are required to move the story forward, but you should not expect your total play time to exceed 30 hours if you just stick to what is required to complete the story.
In case you enjoy the real-time strategy battles in 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim’s Destruction Mode, and spend quite a bit of time with them, the total play time will obviously increase past the 30 hours mark. But if you’re in for the story only, you will be able to see the conclusion of this tale without having to invest tens or even hundreds of hours.
