If you are anything like me, you already have an idea on which Hogwarts House you would join if you ever attended Hogwarts, but if you don’t, we have prepared a rundown on which house to choose in Harry Potter: Magic Awakened.

Choosing a Hogwarts House in Harry Potter: Magic Awakened

You choose a Hogwarts House during the Sorting Hat ceremony, when you first join the school. After visiting the Diagon Alley and having your robes and wand assigned to you, you have a pet owl gifted to you by Hagrid, then you’re sent off to school to start your adventure. Take note of the four outfits laid before you when you are customizing your character. The colors look awfully familiar, don’t they?

During the ceremony, the Sorting Hat debates whether to send you to a particular Hogwarts House, but really it is up to you. You can settle for the Sorting Hat’s choice (he chose Hufflepuff for me at first), or you can tap Reconsider and choose the one you feel is more appropriate. I have always had my heart set on smart and savvy Ravenclaw, so that is who I eventually chose.

There are four houses to choose from, each of them attracting a certain type of witch or wizard. It doesn’t change any aspect of the gameplay itself, though, so pick whichever house you think suits your character. Here is what each choice says:

  • Gryffindor: “Brave: Only the bravest and boldest dare to choose Gryffindor. Is that you?”
  • Ravenclaw: “Wise: In Ravenclaw you will find learning is prized above all else — and why not?”
  • Hufflepuff: “Loyal: Become a proud member of House Hufflepuff. It’s full of tolerance and kindness.”
  • Slitherin:Ambitious: Desire, cunning, a certain moral flexibility…”

Whichever house you choose allows you to have the same exciting adventures as every other player, but remember: once you have made your choice in the Harry Potter: Magic Awakened Sorting Hat Ceremony, there is no going back!
