A lot of these new evolutions required items to be found and used on Pokemon in order to get them to evolve. These items are rare and valued, making them hard to find easily. One of these items is the Protector.

The Protector is the item that is necessary for Rhydon to hold while trading it so that it evolves into Rhyperior.

If you want to learn where to find the Protector in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, then you’re in the right place!

All Locations of the Protector in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

There are two ways in which you can get the Protector in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. However, there are some preliminary requirements that you will need to complete before you can get a Protector of your own:

  • Beat the Elite Four and Champion.
  • Acquire the National Dex.

You can proceed with the two methods below once you’ve gotten these requirements out of the way:

Fight Area

  1. Head to Snowpoint City.
  2. Talk to the Sailor at the deck.
  3. Head to the Fight Area when you enter Battle Park.
  4. Head to Route 228.
  5. Head past Trainer Jose’s house.
  6. In the pit nearby, pick up the Pokeball that contains the Protector.

Exchange Service Corner

This method requires a little extra work, as you will need to beat quite a few trainers in the Battle Tower to earn BP, as that is what you will use to buy the Protector at the Exchange Service Corner.

Do not fret though, as the Protector costs only 5 BP in the Exchange Service Corner, which shouldn’t take you more than a couple battles to earn.
