The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is not only one of the best Nintendo Switch games ever released, but one of the best open-world games ever made, so it is not surprising that many are eagerly anticipating the release of its sequel
Last year, Nintendo confirmed that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2, which is still the game’s unofficial name, would release before the end of 2022, but it seems like plans have changed. Here’s when the game will now release worldwide.
When is The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 Launching on Nintendo Switch?
On March 29, in a new video shared on YouTube by Nintendo, series producer Eiji Aonuma confirmed that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 will release during Spring 2023, and not this year as previously announced.
Mr. Aonuma didn’t go into detail as to why the game has been delayed, but it’s easy to guess. As the producer himself stated in the video that the expanded world will go beyond the adventure taking place on the ground and in the skies above, the development team definitely needed more time to create the game that all Zelda fans are eagerly anticipating, a game that could possibly surpass its predecessor not just in terms of scope. Not an easy feat to accomplish, that’s for sure, but one that is definitely within the possibilities of Eiji Aonuma and his talented team.
