What Power Ups Are Included in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe features 23 different power ups that can be obtained by hitting the ? blocks found in all of the game’s courses. Of these, two are exclusive additions to the Nintendo Switch game and are not available in the original Wii U release, and one of them, the Feather, can only be found in Battle Mode.
Heres’ what each of the 23 power ups in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe does.

| Bullet Bill | Grants temporary invincibility and a massive auto-pilot speed boost |
| Coin | Increases speed. Up to 10 can be collected at one time |
| Crazy Eight | Gives player eight different items |
| Feather | Lets user jump to higher platforms (Battle Mode only) |

| Golden Mushroom | Lets holder boost multiple times |
| Green Shell | Knocks over any opponent hit. Launches in a straight trajectory |
| Lightning | Shrinks all opponents while removing their collected power ups |
| Mushroom | Grants user a single speed boost |
| Piranha Plant | Attacks opponents that get in range. User gets a speed boost every time an attack lands |
| Red Shell | Knocks over the opponent right ahead of you |
| Spiny Shell | Goes after the racer in the first position, knocking them over. Every other opponent caught in its way will also be knocked over |
| Star | Makes the user invincible for a few seconds |
| Super Horn | Knocks over opponents caught in the Horn’s attack range |
| Triple Bananas | Lets holder use three bananas |
