Sometimes in life you may need to grab the first thing you have to use as a weapon and that is where the handy ladle comes into play. The ladle’s first job maybe to serve out soup for dinner but it may be handy in other ways too… Let’s find out what exactly the ladle can do in Tears of the Kingdom.
How to Get and Use a Ladle in TOTK
In Tears of the Kingdom, the ladle has been carved from wood harvested from a very sturdy tree. This means it is more hard-wearing than any old wooden kitchen utensil, and can be used in emergencies in and out of the kitchen!
Ok so it is not the most powerful one-handed weapon you could find but if you are stuck without a weapon, or just want to see how much damage it can do, it is worth trying out. There are five weapon types in Tears of the Kingdom, one of which is the one-handed weaponry. This list also includes legendary swords, wooden sticks, a magic rod, and an actual boomerang. The base damage of the more powerful items in the one-handed weapon list can reach 41 while the humble ladle merely hits a base damage level of 4.

The ladle can be found in Hyrule Castle, just look for the First Gatehouse and search near the tent there. When you pick up the ladle, the in-game description of the ladle reads: “A kitchen implement often used for serving delicious soups. It was carved from the wood of a sturdy tree so it actually packs quite a wallop.”
It is not yet known whether this sturdy but less powerful weapon can be upgraded, but if it is anything like the ladle from Breath of the Wild, there may be a secret Ancient Soup Ladle hidden somewhere… Let us know if you find it!
