Finally, Ubisoft decided that it’s time to bring an iOS exclusive Assassin’s Creed game to the AC-hungry fans, and the title that we’ll get is Assassin’s Creed: Pirates, a spin-off for mobile devices and tablets which, apparently, doesn’t resemble the original Assassin’s Creed gameplay – at least not as much as we’d like it to.
In the game, we’ll be put in the pirate boots of Alonzo Batilla, a pirate of the Caribbean during the 18th century in search of a great treasure. We will encounter Templars and Assassins, well known pirates of the era like Blackbeard and there will be a ton of naval battle.
It’s actually the naval battle element that seems to be the biggest gameplay element of the game, and I fear about a complete naval simulation title that would have nothing to do with the series that we so much love. Hopefully the first Assassin’s Creed: Pirates trailer that you can see below only wanted to show the naval battle element and future gameplay trailers will show us a bit of sneaking and assassin killing.
The game is expected to launch sometime during the fall for iPhone and iPad.
