How to beat a Blue-Maned Lynel

Blue-Maned Lynels are very dangerous opponents, and can easily one-shot you if you are not prepared. We recommend tackling one of these guys when you have upgraded armor to keep yourself from getting absolutely destroyed.

Thankfully, accidentally walking into a Lynel battle is very hard to do. Even when you are spotted, Lynels sit there and stare at you, waiting for you to make the first move. If you get too close or wait long enough, they pull out their weapons and only then will they start fighting, so you have plenty of time to run away if you wish.

Most of a Blue-Maned Lynel’s attacks involve charging you. They will run circles around you until they can build up speed, then charge quickly, either on all fours or with their weapons at the ready. You can jump out of the way when they get close for an easy Flurry Rush.

Lynels can also shoot fireballs out of their mouths. They stand still for a few seconds, and you can see them charging the fireball. Land a headshot on them while they are charging to interrupt the process and stun them. When the Lynel is stunned, you can run up to it and mount it for some free hits!
