Starbucks is no stranger to giveaways and sweepstakes, but this is the first time the company has tried their hand at a mobile game. Expected to officially launch next week, Starland is an augmented reality game that uses your device’s camera to bring the joy of Starbucks wherever you go!

Details have not been fully released yet, but so far the game seems to be a simple AR experience. Players with a Starbucks rewards account will be able to earn up to two plays a day, either by receiving a free play once a day or making a purchase at any Starbucks.

To play the game, players must use the Starbucks app to use one of their plays. This will activate the camera and launch the AR game where you must collect the floating stars hidden around you. You do not need to be at a Starbucks in order to play the game.

Collecting a star might result in a prize! There are two prizes: raffle tickets where you get to enter various sweepstakes for a multitude of Starbucks goodies, and instant prizes like free coffee and food.

Starbucks’ Starland is expected launch next week. Check out the official Starbucks Starland website for more info.
