Purple Wisps share the same traits as all the other Wisps, so they are just as social and energetic as all the others. They are, however, somewhat more aggressive than the other Wisps, but this doesn’t make them evil, as they still grant Sonic their help to take down the bad guys.
Their more aggressive nature is fully reflected in the special power they grant to Sonic. By catching a Purple Wisp, Sonic can turn into the Purple Frenzy, a powered-up form that allows Sonic to destroy certain obstacles that are otherwise indestructible. In this form, Sonic cannot be damaged and can take down all enemies in a single hit. The duration of the Purple Frenzy transformation depends on your Boost Gauge, so make sure to take it into account before unleashing it.
