Short Ride is one of those frustrating mobile games where you die over and over again, even if you have a walkthrough in front of you. And today we’re going to try the almost-impossible task of helping you get better at this game and share a bunch of Short Ride tips and cheats in a complete guide for survival and three star levels in this addictive mobile game.
The truth is that Short Ride is insanely difficult and you will definitely need multiple tries to get past all those levels. During my first try, I lost all my lives at level 3. Really, I wasn’t expecting that – but the game is that difficult.
And since it is mostly a skill based game, it’s pretty difficult to write down some generic tips and tricks for the game. It’s your skills that matter and usually timing has to be perfect. But we’re still doing our best to help you and in today’s article, I will write down everything I can think of that might help you play this game better.
So here are our Short Ride tips and tricks for the world:
Learn to control your clumsy character
As if all those dangers lurking around every corner weren’t enough, Short Ride also gives you a character that seems to be drunk all the time – or at least having very bad legs. He keeps on falling down, face-planting being his favorite activity, so you will have to learn to control the dude.
This is not going to be easy when he’s walking, but the trick here is to keep the pace constant and tap both the right and left arrows to keep him from falling.
When riding a bike or any of the zany vehicles in the game, things are a bit easier as you have more stability. If your character falls (and survives the fall), simply tap the top left arrow twice to get back on the bike again and keep on going.
You don’t have to ride something to the end
I am not sure if this really goes for all levels, but in several I simply lost my vehicle (being destroyed by obstacles) or I simply hopped off the bike to complete the stage on my own two feet as it was easier to do so.
So if things are really hard and passing an obstacle riding a bike, the shopping cart or whatever vehicle you have in that particular level, simply try to hop off and walk. This might be the key!
Take your time and learn how obstacles work
Although Short Ride is a game that’s fast paced and intense, you don’t really have to rush through each level and complete it in record time. Instead, when obstacles and other dangers are involved, spend some time to see how they work and understand what has to be done to get past that particular obstacle.
In most cases, in theory, each obstacle is easy to pass – you just need perfect timing. That is the more difficult task, but if you know what you have to do, you can say you’re halfway there!
Don’t focus on getting all stars
I can imagine that you’re a perfectionist and you want everything done flawlessly, so your main goal is to complete all levels with three stars… but the truth is that you don’t have to.
Instead of wasting time and lives trying to get that final, almost impossible to get star, simply complete the level with 1 or 2 stars and move forward. Unlocking new levels should be your main goal here because this is where the fun is and you can always come back later on to master each stage.
Perfect timing requires practice
What makes this game so addictive and fun is the fact that you keep getting your character killed in the most hilarious and unexpected ways. But this gets old relatively quickly when you want to also progress and you can’t.
As I was saying earlier in this article, perfect timing is required in all instances – and you won’t always be able to pull it off after one try or five. But practice makes perfect, so take advantage of watching ads for extra lives or unlock the premium version of the game and keep trying. Eventually, you will do it flawlessly!
