Terrakion Weaknesses and Counters

Terrakion is a dual-type Rock and Fighting legendary Pokémon. Unlike the other Swords of Justice, Terrakion’s typing is a bit more common, which gives him plenty of weaknesses that you can counter-attack with.

Weaknesses (160% damage)Resistances (62% damage)
FairyBug
FightingDark
GrassFire
GroundNormal
PsychicPoison
SteelRock
Water

You’ve definitely got more options when it comes to Pokémon choice here, since Terrakion has so many weaknesses. You can go ahead with your favorite Pokémon of choice, just make sure they have at least one move that hits Terrakion’s weaknesses.

One of the best counters to Terrakion is Mewtwo, the original legendary Pokémon. Mewtwo has a terrifying amount of attack when powered up, so landing a Psychic or Psystrike on Terrakion will deal massive amounts of damage.

A good counter to Terrakion is Mega Blastoise. Mega Blastoise is pure water, meaning that the entirety of Terrakion’s moveset won’t be able to damage Mega Blastoise’s weaknesses. Mega Blastoise is also packing a high amount of attack and defense, which allows it to stay in the fight for longer.

Metagross is also a strong contender for a powerful counter to Terrakion. Meteor Mash is particularly effective against Terrakion, and you can complement it with Bullet Punch. Be careful though, as Metagross is susceptible to Ground moves and Terrakion can sometimes know Earthquake.

As we mentioned, since Terrakion has so many weaknesses, you don’t necessarily need to use any of the Pokémon listed above. As long as your favorite Mon can hit a weakness, you should be good to go. Some other standouts to use against Terrakion include:

  • Mega Venusaur
  • Landorus (Therian)
  • Latios
  • Conkeldurr
  • Kyogre
  • Jirachi
  • Groudon
  • Swampert

These Pokémon are also great choices. Take your pick, and we wish you luck in taking down one of the Swords of Justice! If you have any other tips or strong counters to Terrakion, let us know in the comments below!
