First off, you’ll need to purchase a ticket from the official event website. It should be noted that if you’re not in the area, you can still enjoy the Safari Zone from the safety of your own home if you’re a ticket holder. This means you can enjoy the increased featured Pokémon spawns, exclusive Special Research, and increased Incense and Lure duration.

The event has two starting times. If you have an Early Access Pass, you’ll have event access from 9 AM to 5 PM local time. General Admission begins at 11 AM, also lasting until 5 PM local time. These times still apply even if you’re playing from around the world.

Safari Zone St. Louis was one of three planned Safari Zone events for 2020, but all three were delayed and converted into global events due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Thankfully, all three events are getting reruns this year, with the Liverpool and Philadelphia events done in October.

Even though there’s no official updates on what kind of Pokémon we’ll be seeing during the St. Louis event, we can assume it’ll have the same Pokémon from last year, as both the Liverpool and Philadelphia 2021 events were also exact repeats with the same featured Pokémon.

For the Safari Zone St. Louis 2021 event, six forms of Unown (S, T, L, O, U, I) will have increased spawns in the wild, alongside Teddiursa and Chatot. You’ll also have an increased chance to encounter a shiny Teddiursa and its evolved form, Ursaring.

Incense and Lure Modules activated during the event’s hours will attract the listed Pokémon, and they’ll also last for longer than usual. Incense will last eight hours, while Lure Modules will last for four hours.

There are also two Special Research tasks for you to complete. Completing both sets guarantees you a shiny Teddiursa!

  • Part 1
    • Transfer 10 Pokémon: Awards Incense
    • Evolve 3 Pokémon: Awards Great Ball x100
    • Catch 10 different species of Pokémon: Awards Rare Candy x5
    • Part 1 Rewards: Super Incubator x1, Fast TM x1, Golden Razz Berry x10
  • Part 2
    • Take a snapshot of your buddy: Awards Lucky Egg x1
    • Give your buddy 3 treats: Awards Great Ball x100
    • Play with your buddy 3 times: Awards Star Piece x1

Additionally, special 2KM eggs will be available to hatch some rare Pokémon. Ticket holders will also automatically earn limited edition in-game Safari Zone shirts for their Trainer.

And that’s all you need to know about the 2021 St. Louis Safari Zone event in Pokémon Go! Whether you’re joining the event in-person or playing from your home across the globe, we hope you enjoy the event. If you have any other questions, let us know in the comments below!
