Pikes.io is yet another “io” game that tries to bring something new and exciting to the table. And they do manage to do it by introducing the pikes into the game and some nice mechanics asking for some even nicer strategies.

And we’re here to help with that by sharing some Pikes.io cheats and tips that will help you become the best lancer in the world. And have the longest pike because, well… size matters!

Always collect the on-screen dots
The dots on the screen have one extremely important use above everything else: they refill your speed booster, which is absolutely vital when it comes to outclassing your opponents.

For this reason alone, you should always be on the lookout for collecting all the dots that you can and keep your meter full at all times. Things get a lot easier (and riskier) when your pike is very long and you never want to run out of the turbo boost!

Change your control method
There are two different potential control methods in the game: the classic joystick mode and an arrow mode. You should switch from one to the other and see which works best for you.

In my case, it’s definitely the joystick as I have absolutely no control over my unit with the arrow mode, but it doesn’t hurt to try them both: if the latter works for your better, that’s what you should choose.

In order to change your control method, you need to tap the cogwheel icon on the main screen.

Master the art of using your speed boost at the right time
As I said earlier, the turbo or speed boost is the most important part in the game and it can help you take out enemies and save your skin in dangerous situations. But since you only have a very limited amount at all times, you should try to micromanage it flawlessly.

You will usually want to use it when you’re facing an opponent and you’re about to hit them with your pike. Tapping the turbo boost then will give you the speed advantage to find them with their guard low and destroy them. In this occasion, it’s usually a good idea to try and turn to the left or right while performing the move in order to increase your chances of hitting your target.

On defense it is a bit more difficult to dodge incoming attacks, especially because you are tempted to do it the same way as you handle attacks. However, that shouldn’t be the case: when trying to get rid of an opponent coming after you, it’s best to go in a straight line until you gain enough distance. Turning to any side while on the run will actually get you closer to your opponent and they will easily spike you down.

Stay away from overly crowded areas
No matter how long your spike is or how quickly you can fill up your turbo boost, you should still try to stay away from crowded areas because those are the most dangerous in the game. Plain and simple!

Master the “spin and turn” move
Once you get a long enough spike, you can try this move that basically has you standing almost still and rotating, taking out anybody who’s foolish enough to get close.

This move is also extremely useful when running after a single enemy or when battling an enemy in close range. If you manage to hold your grounds and rotate at the right time, you will most likely destroy them and take them by surprise. However, this move is also very risky so unless you are sure you can pull it off, if you’re on the defense, it’s just better to run in a straight line and wait for a better time.

Unlock new skins in the game
Based on your in-game performance, you will unlock extra skins in the game. They don’t have a direct impact over the gameplay, but they do make your character look cooler and better.

However, if you don’t want to wait to unlock a specific skin, you can easily unlock it by watching an ad. This will only be valid for one game, but if you’re a skilled player, that could be long enough for you, so consider this the next time you start a new game.
