MMORPG Fans Rejoice: MU Origin 2 Is Out Now on Android and iOS

This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

MU Origin 2 has barely been out of the news lately, what with the launch announcement, the closed beta, the results of the closed beta, and the release date all following each other in quick succession in the first half of this year.

That means it’s been a tantalising time for fans of Webzen’s MMORPG series, but the wait is finally over. MU Origin 2 has arrived.

Here’s what you can expect. MU Origin 2 is, of course, the sequel to MU Origin, itself a spinoff of the hugely popular MU Online. The series has been around in one form or another since 2001. If it were a person, it would be old enough to vote and drive a car.

But it’s a game, and it’s old enough to have one of the richest, most fully realized fantasy universes in the genre.

The plot sees you going up against the malignant Demon God Kundun in a bid to restore peace and harmony to the MU continent. That means battling his legions of demons and sending them back to the fiery underworld from which they crawled.

Choosing from Dark Knight, Dark Wizard, and Elf, you’ll head out to form parties, conquer dungeons, join a guild, solve puzzles, and much more.

You’ll get a pet, too – a ferocious Guardian who will augment your killing power in battle. Meanwhile a second companion, your mount, will carry you across the game’s huge distances.

There are quests to complete, team battles to win in the Harmatium, 1v1 scraps to win in the Arena, and much more.

The first MU Origin started off big and kept growing exponentially bigger thanks to a succession of enormous content updates. You can almost certainly expect the same from MU Origin 2, but in the meantime it already looks like a solid improvement on its predecessor, with beefed-up visuals and a slick gameplay.

You can download MU Origin 2 right now on Google Play and the App Store.
