After the trailer leaked four years ago, Sony finally confirmed Hogwarts Legacy at the 2020 PlayStation 5 Showcase. So in this article, we’ll be looking at all supported platforms for Hogwarts Legacy.
The game will allow players to experience what it’s like to grow up in the wizarding school of Hogwarts where they can fly on brooms, brew varieties of potions and make lots of friends, or enemies.

Is Hogwarts Legacy Coming to Consoles? – Answered
Hogwarts Legacy takes place in the 1800s, long before the events of Harry Potter. This means you’ll be meeting a new cast of interesting characters that you can play with for the first time.
Fans of the game will also be getting a new look at the adventure that awaits them in Hogwarts Legacy during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live showcase on August 23rd.
The game was originally set to launch in 2021 but was delayed to April 2022 before being pushed back to a holiday window. However, Warner Bros. Games has announced that the game will now release in 2023, possibly to avoid clashing horns with Sony’s God of War Ragnarok.
Hogwarts Legacy will launch on Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC. And although the game is also set to release on Nintendo Switch, it’s expected to arrive at a later date, with news of a launch date said to be coming soon.
Hogwarts Legacy Story
The game will see you play the role of a completely customizable character who’s joining the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry late as a fifth-year student. However, turns out you’re also the one who holds the key to an “ancient secret that threatens to tear the wizarding world apart”.
You’re capable of manipulating mysterious ancient magic and will need to help uncover why this forgotten magic has suddenly made a resurgence and the ones that are simultaneously trying to harness it.
Since the events of this game took place in the 1800s, it’s not a direct adaptation of the books and films we know but it will be “anchored in Wizarding World lore”. So you should not expect to see the legendary Harry Potter or any of his best friends (Ron or Hermione) in this adventure.
Hogwarts Legacy will now release on February 10, 2023.
