Bounce on other racers!

The main method of gaining speed in Ice Racing.io is to get bigger and slow down the competition. The only controls you have in this game are tapping to jump. If you can manage to land on another player, you will squash them and they will slow down while you grow bigger and speed up. This is the key to winning races, so try to squash as many racers as you can!

Block off other racers!

Once you grow big enough, you should be able to pull ahead easily. Now, the trick here is to try to block off as many racers as you can. You will notice that the slope will sometimes start to even out and not be as steep anymore; these stretches are where you will lose the most speed, allowing the other racers to catch up.

The key is to watch for other racers! When you see them trailing behind you slowly catching, get ready to jump – or not! You will need to guess if they might try to overtake you, and if they attempt to do so, simply jump to block them off with your big body. However…

Don’t take too many hits!

It is fine to body block other racers, but you will notice that you will flash whenever you do so. If you take too many hits, you will actually shrink in size so it is important that you grow back to normal size by squashing other players again. Remember that every time you squash another player, you will gain a little bit of size back.

Don’t get squashed!

If you see another racer about to land on you, you can fight back! If you jump up right before they are going to land on you, you can counterattack by bouncing them away from you. This technique is important against the aggressive players!

Get boosted by other players!

Sometimes, it might actually be beneficial to wait and see what happens when another player catches up to you. If you are in the lead and you see another racer catching up to you, if they bump right into you, you will be boosted forward and they will be sent backwards, assuming you have the size advantage. This is why it is so important to keep squashing other players!
