This guide will show you how to solve the Make A Friend puzzle in Poppy Playtime Chapter 1.
Poppy Playtime Chapter 1 Puzzle Guide: Make A Friend Room Puzzle
This first chapter is where players are introduced to Huggy Wuggy, the Playtime Co.’s mascot who is found in the lobby of the factory. When the power goes out and players have to go to another room to restore the power and return later, they discover the creepy mascot is gone. Players then use the right hand of the GrabPack to unlock a hatch to the conveyer, which takes them to the Make A Friend room in the factory.

In this room there are 3 machines and the door is locked. A large sign says “Nobody Leaves Without A Toy!“, and a scanner is seen where players should scan a toy they make in order to escape. Unfortunately there is no power going to the Make A Friend machine so the player’s first job is to get the machine working before they can make a toy.
The first step is to go left of the conveyer to a staircase leading up. The stairs go up to a catwalk with sections missing. These missing parts can be fixed by using the GrabPack to pull a piece out and fix the catwalk. Along the catwalk there are 2 fuse boxes. Get the first fuse box and make your way to the second fuse box at the very end, powering it on. Don’t forget to pick up the pink-colored VHS tape and watch it the pink VCR at the stairs.
The Make A Friend machine will now have power, and the player can press the start button to start it up. After a few seconds the 3 levers will light up. Pull at the levers with the GrabPack and see the bits of toy land on the conveyer belt. The toy is assembled and ends up at the end of the conveyer. Pick one up and place it on the scanner to get that door unlocked!
