There seems to be confusion among New World players (especially newcomers), as to how one can get Topaz Gypsum. In this article, we will describe the steps that one must follow in order to get it.
Topaz Gypsum is an epic rare resource in New World that can only be acquired by the following method:
First things first, you need to craft a Topaz Gypsum Attunement Potion before you can hope to get a Topaz Gypsum. The reason is that this potion attunes you to Topaz Gypsum and enables you to find it on monsters level 55 or higher. Its effect lasts for 60 minutes. In other words, without that potion, there’s no way to get your hands on the Topaz Gypsum.
The Topaz Gypsum Attunement Potion can be crafted at Arcane Repository using 5 Tier 5 alchemical criters.
Once you are under the effect of the Topaz Gypsum Attunement Potion, head over to an area with level 55 or higher enemies. Edengrove, Shattered Mountain, Reekwater, Ebonscale Reach are some good places to look.
Here’s the tricky part. Topaz Gypsum isn’t a guaranteed drop. In fact, it has something like 25% chances of dropping when you kill a level 55 or higher mob.
Something else to keep in mind is that only 10 Topaz Gypsum will drop per day. That means if you miss a drop, you won’t be able to craft a Gypsum Cast until the reset. So you better pay attention to drops and keep in mind that you only have one hour before the effect of Topaz Gypsum Attunement Potion expires!
Follow this process and keep cycling through the mobs until you get 10 Topaz Gypsum in your inventory. That’s the amount you need so you can then craft a Gypsum Orb.
