How To Get The Draupnir Spear In God Of War: Ragnarok

Like in the previous game, there are a lot really cool things you can do in God of War and that includes being able to use various types of weapons. God of War Ragnarok expands on that by allowing players to use other weapons outside Kratos’s usual duo: the Leviathan Axe and the Blade of Chaos.

And while pretty much every other weapon in GoW Ragnarok is important, the Draupnir Spear is one that players have become fond of and have been searching for its location ever since. So in this article, we’ll be guiding you on how to get the Draupnir Spear in God of War: Ragnarok.

The Draupnir Spear is part of the game’s main storyline, so players will eventually find it as they progress. It is worth noting that some parts of this article contain spoilers for GoW Ragnarok, so only read past this paragraph if you don’t mind letting yourself on some small details.

You can unlock the spear in the game’s main story quest titled Forging Destiny. In this quest, you will visit Svartfheim with Brok and visit the Lady of the Forge who will gift you the spear. As aforementioned, this is a part of the main story quest about two-thirds of the way through the game, so there is no way you’ll miss not getting the spear.

Also, the Draupnir Spear is the only new weapon in the game that cannot be used as a shield. It is the most versatile of weapons in Kratos’ collection with both close-quarters and ranged options that can be used against enemies. The spear can also be thrown to have them explode whenever you prefer, however, the close-quarters options available focus on building up stun bars. You can also siphon elements from enemies with the spear.

Ultimately, despite having the nightly Leviathan Axe and terror-inducing Blades of Chaos, the Draupnir Spear isn’t without its distinct features that make it a special weapon if used well.
