You can unlock the spear in the game’s main story quest titled Forging Destiny. In this quest, you will visit Svartfheim with Brok and visit the Lady of the Forge who will gift you the spear. As aforementioned, this is a part of the main story quest about two-thirds of the way through the game, so there is no way you’ll miss not getting the spear.

Also, the Draupnir Spear is the only new weapon in the game that cannot be used as a shield. It is the most versatile of weapons in Kratos’ collection with both close-quarters and ranged options that can be used against enemies. The spear can also be thrown to have them explode whenever you prefer, however, the close-quarters options available focus on building up stun bars.
