What are the various methods to obtain Sylveon in Pokemon GO?

If you look at the mainline series games, the methods for evolving Eevee into any of its forms are unique in their own ways, but fairly straightforward. The same cannot be said for Pokemon GO, as getting Eevee to evolve into any of its forms can get pretty unorthodox.

For Sylveon itself, there are three different ways that you can obtain it. The two sub-optimal methods consist of evolving it normally or trading. The main one that we will be focusing on is called the ‘name trick’ evolution method.

What is the Sylveon Name Trick evolution method?

If you’ve never heard of this method before, this is the only thing you will need to care about to get your Sylveon. The name trick works for every Eeveelution and will guarantee your Eevee to evolve. This trick can be used to get all of the Eeveelutions, but only once per account, interestingly enough.

All you have to do to get the Sylveon name trick working is to change your Eevee’s name to ‘Kira.” Once you’ve done that, spend 25 Eevee Candy to evolve it into a Sylveon! Mind blown, right?

What are the rest of the Sylveon evolution methods?

Buddy Pokemon Evolution

This method requires you to set Eevee as your ‘Buddy Pokemon.’ Your Buddy Eevee requires a total of 70 Hearts for it to evolve into Sylveon.

This method is sub-optimal because there is a limit to how many hearts you can earn per day through activities like walking together, feeding your buddy a treat, etc. Then remains the normal requirement of feeding 25 Eevee Candy to your Eevee to finally obtain your Sylveon.

Trading

The final way of obtaining a Sylveon is through trading. All you need to do is find a player that is willing to trade their Sylveon with you, and voila!

This is not the best method because there is a cost for trading, which can be even higher based on whether or not it’s your first Sylveon, if it’s Shiny or not, and more.
