In this mission, you’ll play as Sergeant Kyle “Gaz” Garrick and will be tasked with accompanying Captain John Price on a reconnaissance mission on a small Island off the coast of Spain. This mission will provide you with an opportunity to unlock the Nobody Was There trophy/achievement in the game. So in this article, we’re guiding you on how to get Recon By Fire achievement Nobody Was There in MW2.

This achievement requires you to never trigger the alarm during the Recon by Fire mission, but the developers named the trophy/achievement in a way that it’s misleading. And although enemies discover you is inevitable at the end of this particular mission, there are two sniping actions that you’ll have to shoot accurately else you risk alerting the enemies.

The first sniping section will take place on a ridge that’s overlooking the main hatchery and warehouse buildings. So to avoid triggering the alarm, you’ll have to kill all the guards patrolling outside without triggering the alarm. Also, be sure not to miss a shot as the enemies will attempt to trigger the alarm if they spot a dead body or notice that their colleague is being shot at.

So to unlock the achievement, use your thermal scope to scan the hatchery, then zoom in on any highlight figures and pay close attention to what Price says:

Price will give you a number of notches, which tells you how high above the target you have to aim. So, for example, if he tells you three notches, line up your target with the third notch below the centre of your crosshair.

When he says, “It’s just him,” or something similar, then you can take out the target without the risk of the alarm being triggered. If you zoom in on two targets, he’ll tell you to take one, and he’ll take the other. It doesn’t matter which target you hit, Price will get the other.

Sometimes when you zoom in on two targets, he’ll tell you to wait because there’s a third guard patrolling nearby. Always do as he says in this mission and wait until the patrolling guard has gone away, then take out the two targets. Take out the patrolling guard before he comes back.

If you zoom in on a group of three, Price will tell you to move to a spot where you can hit two targets with one bullet. You might need to move a long way to the left or right in order to do this, but it’s worth it eventually. You can run around up here; you’re too far away for the guards to see you. And don’t worry about lying in long grass only.

If Price says, “Those are civilians,” refrain from shooting them.

The mission in itself isn’t very difficult or requires you to hit a bullseye with every shot because when you make a mistake or even miss a shot, Price is fast enough to take down any alerted guard before they reach the alarm, but if a guard does raise the alarm, you’ll have to restart the mission all over.

The second sniping section is at the lighthouse and works in the same way as the first. Except for this time some of the targets are wearing armour. So when you zoom in on these targets, Price will tell you to aim at the head, so be sure to line your notches carefully this time as well.

The trophy/achievement should pop up soon as you complete this lighthouse sniping section without triggering any alarms.
