Getting all three endings in Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2

As mentioned, there are three endings overall to Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2. The two main factors that determine what ending you get are Soul Cannon usage and affinities. Technically, though, there are five possible endings, as the true ending can change depending on certain attributes—we will explain that later.

Getting the normal ending

To get the normal ending of Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2, you simply have to defeat Cayenne as normal. You can use the Soul Cannon a few times, but do not use it too much to the point where you have none of the children left over.

After defeating Cayenne, choose the “I can’t shoot…” option when Malt cannot decide between firing the Soul Cannon or not. This results in Jihl and Hanna destroying the Belenos from the inside, sacrificing themselves and destroying the Vanargand in the process.

The ending cutscenes scratch out any of the children lost, with Jihl and Hanna guaranteed to be missing, plus anyone that was sacrificed to the Soul Cannon.

Getting the bad ending

To get the bad ending of Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2, you need to use the Soul Cannon repeatedly until you have no children left aboard the Exo-Taranis. As expected, after defeating Cayenne, there are no survivors.

Despite being able to rely upon the destructive power of the Soul Cannon, this ending is actually rather hard to get, as losing children means losing more and more battle options, making the fights exponentially tougher.

Getting the true ending

To get the true ending of Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2, the Soul Cannon must NEVER be used. In addition, at least six children must have level 2 or higher affinity with Vanilla. Throughout the story, the game mentions multiple times that having affinity with Vanilla is important, and this is why.

With these conditions fulfilled, beat Cayenne as usual, but this time choose the “Trust in Hanna and Jihl” option when the time comes to fire the Soul Cannon.

After the true ending cutscene plays out, there are two potential extra epilogue sequences you can get, based on the Judgment system. That is how your true ending might differ.

If you have at least 90 points or more in one Judgment stat compared to the other, you will get that respective epilogue. For example, having most of your points in Empathy nets you the Empathy epilogue.
