Despite playing differently from most entries in the Monster Hunter series, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin comes with many of the features seen in other games, such as the ability to craft different gear to take on more powerful monsters.
Crafting new gear in Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin requires Weapon and Armor Spheres, which can be hard to come by. Here’s how to farm them as effectively and as quickly as possible.
How to Farm Weapon and Armor Spheres in Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin
Finding Weapon and Armor Spheres is as straightforward as it can get. All you need to do to get them is mine ore by interacting with Mining Spots found in all maps. What makes farming these materials so frustrating is that you are not guaranteed to get Spheres every time you mine, so it can take some time to find all the materials you need to craft the most powerful weapons and armors in the game.
There are a few maps, however, that make farming Weapon and Armor Spheres a little less time-consuming. The first map is the Terga Volcano Base, which features 7 different mining spots close to one another near the location you will be warped once you select the map via the menu. Explore the surroundings, mine all the spots, open the map via the menu, pick the Terga Volcano Base option to warp back at the start to respawn all the mining spots, and then rinse and repeat until you have found all the materials you need.
Another great map to farm Weapon and Armor Spheres in Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin is the Base of Mt. Lavina. From the starting Catavan Stand, head towards the Lavina Mining Cave to the southeast to find plenty of mining spots. Once you reach the mine’s entrance, warp back to the Base of Mt. Lavina to respawn the mining spots.
