As always, your main activity in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will be battling Trainers and wild Pokémon. Therefore, to progress through the story, complete quests, and fill out the Pokédex, you will need a team of strong Pokémon. And one of the best ways to make your Pokémon stronger is EV Training.

When your Pokémon levels up, its stats increase. However, through EV Training you will be able to increase certain stats of your Pokémon. For this, you need to get Effort Points for a specific stat. Collecting 4 Effort Points, you will get +1 stat point. And there are several ways how to EV Train in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

Encountering with Pokemon

The main way to get Effort Points is by fighting certain Pokémon. You can get 1-2 Effort Points for a specific stat by defeating wild Pokémon. For example, defeating Hariyama will give you 2 Effort Points for HP. And you can find these Pokémon all over the Paldea region.

You can also give your Pokémon one of the Power Items. With them, the Pokémon will be able to gain a lot more Effort Points, but its speed will be halved. You can buy these Power Items from Delibird Parcels for 10,000 Pokedollars.

Giving Special Items

In addition to encountering wild Pokémon, you can also use Items such as Vitamins and Feathers to get Effort Points instantly. Each Vitamin gives your Pokémon +10 Effort Points to a certain stat. And all Feathers except Health Feather give +4 Effort Points.
