Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin may play quite differently from other entries in the series, but this doesn’t mean that it does away with many of the mechanics that make Monster Hunter the compelling experience it is. One of these mechanics that makes a comeback in this traditional JRPG is crafting, which allows you to use materials you can find in the field to create items that can be a big help during the course of the adventure.

How to Combine Items in Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin

Combining items in Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin is as straightforward as it can get. All you need to do is open the menu with the X button and then pick the Combine option. Here, you will find a list of items you can create and the list of materials you need. Pick any item on the list and press the A button to create it if you have enough materials.

At the start of the game, you will be able to create very few items via Combine. To increase the number of items you can craft, you will need to find recipes, which can be obtained by playing through the story, completing sidequests, or by purchasing them from Melynx Inc.
