Premier Balls may look neat, but they actually are pretty normal in the way that it actually counts. Premier Balls are just like a normal PokeBalls when it comes to catching Pokemon.

What this means is that there is no increased catch rate multiplier when using a Premier Ball over a PokeBall. A PokeBall has the normal catch rate multipler: 1x. Premier Balls also have the same basic catch rate multiplier: 1x, which means that you’re better off buying Great Balls (1.5x multiplier) or Ultra Balls (2x multiplier) if you’re looking to do some serious Pokemon catching business.

How to get Premier Balls in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

You cannot directly buy Premier Balls from any shop, mart, mall, or store in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. You get Premier Balls by either:

  • Picking them up as items from the overworld.
  • Given to you by NPCs.
  • Given as a free gift for every 10 PokeBalls you buy.

Additionally, it doesn’t matter what kind of PokeBall you buy; you get a Premier Ball even if you buy 10 Great Balls or 10 Ultra Balls!
