The way GWENT The Witcher Card Game came to be is a very interesting one. Starting as a mini-game included in The Witcher 3, GWENT has grown to become a full-fledged game with a rabid fanbase which helped CD Projekt RED work out some of the issues the game had since its original closed beta phase. It’s been some time since the game released on PC and consoles, and now it’s finally time for mobile users to enjoy it.
GWENT The Witcher Card Game is now available for iOS as a free to play game worldwide. Unlike other mobile card games, however, GWENT The Witcher Card Game is hardly a pay to win game, as microtransactions are fair in price and the robust progression system allows players to earn new cards without having to pay for them with real money.
GWENT The Witcher Card Game is a very simple game to understand, but a harder one to master. Every game is a first to two rounds game where players get 10 cards which can be played in any order they like. Cards are divided into melee and ranged cards, and each one comes with a unique ability that can become more powerful is used together with other abilities, which can create combos that can destroy enemy cards, increase the value of one’s own cards and so on. There’s so much depth that players can come up with a lot of different strategies, most of them extremely viable in competitive play.
GWENT The Witcher Card Game is now available on iOS worldwide. The game is also in development for Android, but a final release date has yet to be confirmed.
