Genshin Impact Update 2.4 Release Date and Time Revealed

Ever since it was released on mobile, Genshin Impact has become one of the most popular open-world action RPG games, and it’s well on its way to getting new and exciting content.

The upcoming update 2.4 has been announced and it promises to bring many features that’ll better existing ones. One of the most anticipated features in update 2.4 is called “Fleeting Colours In Flight,” a new expansion.

This expansion was revealed in a recently held livestream event that also showcased new codes within the game. Update 2.4 will bring about fresh characters that players can unlock, as well as new locations to explore in the massive open world.

Developers miHoYo confirmed that underneath the Watatsumi Island’s still waters lies a realm that’s been sealed away for thousands of years.

The Genshin team also released a message that entails plenty of mystery, stating: “Clues to this lost civilization are buried in the ruins of the abandoned library, shrines, laboratory, and the city’s remains. As you delve into the depths of Enkanomiya, the transition switch between day and night through Dainichi Mikoshi is the key to solving many puzzles. Also, beware of Bathysmal Vishaps and the new Abyss Lector on your quest.

“Bathysmal Vishaps are extremely dangerous predators living in the dark waters. Pack members hunt together and can take advantage of their surroundings in combat. The Abyss Lector: Fathomless Flames can unleash Pyro attacks that deal delayed bursts of damage regardless if characters are shielded or not.”

When Will Genshin Impact Update 2.4 Be Released?

MiHoYo has confirmed that update 2.4 will release on January 5, 2022, in the UK at 3 am GMT on Thursday.

Due to this time difference, players based in North America and some parts of Africa will get an early release on January 4, 2022, at 7 pm PT.

The developers also confirmed that the game’s maintenance will commence at 10 pm GMT on January 4 and will last for up to five hours. This also means that there’s likely to be a new massive download size awaiting players for the new update.

Since this update will affect all of the game’s platforms, Genshin Impact will not be playable on PS4, PS5, PC, or mobile until maintenance has been completed.
