In the past few months, Square Enix has released several classic entries of the Dragon Quest series on the App Store in all regions. Ever since the Japanese publisher revealed its plans to release these games on iOS devices, it was made clear that the real challenge was to bring Dragon Quest VII due to how huge the game is. Thankfully it looks like the company has managed to overcome tall the difficulties difficulties, as it’s been confirmed today that Dragon Quest VII is finally going to be released on the App Store, at least in Japan.
The iOS version of Dragon Quest VII is based on the recent Nintendo 3DS remake which features 3D graphics and a variety of other gameplay and story tweaks. Like other Dragon Quest iOS ports, the game can be played in portrait mode. Other features and interface tweaks will be included in this version of the game.
Dragon Quest VII iOS will be released on the App Store in Japan this week, on September 17th. There are no news on a possible Western release of the game and we may not hear more about the matter in some time, as the 3DS version of the game, which the iOS one is based upon, hasn’t been localized yet.
