Doomsday: Last Survivors goes in hard.
Developed by IGG.COM, Doomsday: Last Survivors is a full-fat serving of gory undead action, with blood, guts, and brains galore.
It sees you playing as a Commander in the aftermath of a global zombie apocalypse. The remnants of humanity are struggling to survive in the wasteland where civilization once stood, and it’s your job to lead them to safety.
This involves building a shelter, exploring your fog-filled surroundings, and fighting off hordes of slavering, murderous zombies.
But your greatest enemy isn’t the zombies. It’s your fellow humans, who are roaming the landscape in rival factions looking to loot and pillage their way to the top of the apocalyptic food chain.
Gameplay-wise, Doomsday: Last Survivors is a zombie survival MMO with real-time strategy and tower defense elements, along with plenty of exploration. In other words, it keeps you busy.
Not only do you have to ensure that your Shelter is well-fortified, but you’ll need to strike out and raid other players’ Shelters to increase your reserves of valuable resources, pushing back the fog or war as you go. It’s a dog-eat-dog world out there.
The battles themselves play out in tower defense style, with you arranging your Heroes into formations to see off invaders. You can have full control over your troops marching direction and destination by simply tapping and dragging them.
There are multiple troop types to send into battle, as well as a variety of unique Hero skills and attacks. Success is all about building a strategy with the various tools at your disposal.
And it all looks great. Each Hero is a carefully designed mixture of the ordinary and the dramatic, while the zombies all look brilliantly horrific.
Meanwhile the gameplay takes place in a realistic spherical terrain system, allowing you to explore the world, zoom-in on Shelters, and more. Plus, everything is bathed in that gritty, flyblown dystopian aesthetic that we all know and love.
