Pokemon’s first ever team based strategy game has been released! Pokemon Unite is now on Nintendo Switch and many players are excited to play the highly anticipated 5v5 team-based combat game with their friends. You choose your Pokemon, each with its specific strengths and weaknesses, and using items and new learnt moves you can battle others and help your team win the most Aeos energy.
As this is an online team game where good communication is a must, the developers have ensured players can chat easily with their teammates with signals, text, and voice chat. So when and how do we use voice chat?
Players can use voice chat when they reach Trainer Level 6, and once you have obtained that level you are free to chat in all your matches. To chat with friends you must also have played 5 matches together.

Pokemon Unite’s in-game voice chat is switched on by default so if you want to mute yourself you will have to ensure you do so in settings beforehand. You can also adjust output volume in settings, and control the volume of your teammates voices. Nintendo players will have to use their own headset or earphones to access voice chat as there is no in-built mic.
Other means to communicate via voice chat are available such as Discord, or Nintendo’s own smartphone app Nintendo Switch Online which can be used by players with a Nintendo Switch Online membership.
Pokemon Unite is out now on Nintendo Switch and will be available on mobile devices September 2021!
