Many PC gamers waged war for Tiberium, the precious mineral found in the legendary strategy series Command & Conquer. Today, a new way to fight the war has emerged right from the palm of your hand – Command & Conquer: Rivals launches today, bringing the classic RTS series to the mobile platform!

If you are unfamiliar with the name, Command & Conquer is a series of real-time strategy games published by Electronic Arts. The series dates back as far as 1995, and is considered one of the founding fathers of the RTS genre for PC. The series enjoyed a good run up until 2013, when it went mysteriously silent.

Until today! Command & Conquer: Rivals brings the old into the new. The game plays like today’s PvP tower defense games, where two players duke it out on the battlefield by deploying troops down lanes. Hardcore fans will recognize classic C&C units and factions, including the Global Defense Initiative and  the Brotherhood of Nod.

Players will choose from a variety of commanders each with their own unique skills. Infantry and vehicles are at your whim, but only smart deployment will make the most of them. Combine units with your commander’s specialty to seize the day!

Even if you have never played a Command & Conquer game in your life, Command & Conquer: Rivals is looking like it will be a fantastic entry into the PvP strategy game genre. You can download the game now for free on the App Store and Google Play Store.
