If you’ve been hankering for the good old days playing Tony Hawks games with your friends, we’ve got good news for you. Stickman Skate Battle offers a similar experience right on your phone.
It’s a multiplayer-focused skateboarding game that challenges you to take on your friends in real time in a variety of modes.
There’s high score, in which you have to perform the best tricks you know in a minute, receiving a score at the end. The player with the highest score wins.
Then there’s the Splatoon-inspired domination mode. Here you have to trick on obstacles to cover them in your colours, with the winner being the player with the most obstacles at the end.
You can steal your opponent’s obstacle though, by performing a better trick. It’s not who gets there first, it’s those who are most skilled.
There are also daily, weekly, and league tournaments to participate in which really test your skills. These are played against players globally, and are not for the feint of heart.
To train up, you can run through the tutorial, practice your tricks in training mode, or play offline against the AI. This is ideal for when you’re trapped on the tube.
If you fancy customising your skater in your own image, you can choose from a bunch of different characters or skateboards, and learn a special trick or two to show off.
And the best part is, you don’t have to suffer touch controls if you don’t want to. There’s full controller support from the get-go.
