Octopath Traveler 2 is the sequel in the Octopath Traveler series and is released on Nintendo Switch, Steam and Playstation on February 24th 2023. Players can choose from 8 different characters to play throughout the game, each with their own abilities and powers. Which Character is Best to Start with in Octopath Traveler 2?

When starting Octopath Traveler 2, players must decide which of the 8 protagonists they would like to start with out of the following:

• Hikari – Warrior
• Agnea – Dancer
• Partito – Merchant
• Osvald – Scholar
• Throné – Thief
• Temenos – Cleric
• Ochette – Hunter
• Castti – Apothecary

Each character has their own backstory and journey to begin, and a unique set of skills. Every one will be unlocked eventually so it is really down to the player which they are more interested in. If there is not one you are immediately interested in the choosing one with a god broad attack style would be best for beginners.

Strong attack types would be best for when players are starting the game so they can beat any enemies in the early rounds. Hikari the Warrior would be our first pick as his skills as a swordsman are amazing, and with his shield-breaking power he is pretty good on his own. Hikari can also learn up to 5 skills from opponents, giving him a great range of powers he would otherwise not have.

Our second choice in a starter hero would be Cassti the Apothecary. Castti is more than just an apothecary as she has mean axe skills and can throw icicles to deal ice damage. Cassti can replenish her health if she gets damaged, making her ready for the next fight! Of course her apothecary skills gives her yet more advantage as she can concoct a range of different potions to help the team.
