Pokémon Legends: Arceus, the spiritual prequel to Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, is based in the ancient Hisui region, which eventually becomes the modern-day Sinnoh.
The game is set in the distant past, way before the events of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl even happened. So it might be obvious to most players that the existence of advanced technology, like the ones seen in a Pokémon Center, might be questionable in these ancient times.
But is it really? Let’s find out!
Pokémon Centers – Do they exist in Hisui?

Since this game’s timeline dates way back to ancient times, the technology that made Pokémon Centers fully functioning did not yet exist. People had to depend on alternate means to heal their Pokémon, and players will have to do the same.
Like the older Pokémon games, players can use berries to heal their Pokémon. Except in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, players can not only find better healing items, but craft them themselves! This mechanic adds an old-school RPG element to Pokémon. For example, an Oran Berry will heal 20 HP of a single Pokémon, while a Super Potion will heal 100 HP.
If the player really wishes to get their Pokémon fully healthy, the recommended option is to rest at a settlement or base camp and the Pokémon will be as good as new!
How to heal the… protagonist?

If that surprised you, that’s because this is a never-before-seen feature in the Pokémon franchise. In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, the protagonist fights as well!
While there are no visible health bars or healing items available to the protagonist, the damage taken still has visual indicators, such as the colors changing at the borders of the screen.
Healing the protagonist can only be done by resting at settlements or camps due to the lack of healing items for non-Pokémon.
Pokémon Legends: Arceus is already making some big strides in the Pokémon franchise and we are here to keep you posted on any new developments made!
