Animal Crossing Pocket Camp Flowers Guide

Gardening is one of my all-time favorite activities in Animal Crossing Pocket Camp, and not only because I genuinely love flowers, but also because this game makes it so much fun!

In today’s article, I am going to let you in on my Animal Crossing Pocket Camp gardening guide, as well as give you my tips on how to pollinate the flowers and obtain the colors you want.

To kick things off, you need to know that you can buy normal flower seeds from Lloid, and you can start creating from there. Basically, you can have 20 flowers at once (because there are 20 flower beds), but once it’s all grown, you can harvest it and plant a new one.

How to obtain various rare flower colors in Animal Crossing Pocket Camp?

The main way to obtain rarer colors is to cross-pollinate your flowers, based on what genes they have.

Of course, I am not talking about the flowers you obtain from events. Those are completely different, and you will have to complete in-game events to receive seeds for them.

Cross-pollinating works like this:

– have a flower that you’ve already harvested in your inventory

– have a fully bloomed flower in your garden (that you haven’t harvested yet)

– tap on the fully bloomed flower and select the cross-pollination option

But before we dive deeper into the guide, you need to know a couple of things. It will take quite some time, and sometimes you won’t obtain the flower you want right away. But don’t despair, and keep trying. With perseverance you could have a full garden of purple and blue tulips, that looks amazing! So, take a look and keep these in mind:

– In Animal Crossing Pocket Camp flowers have different genes, similar to how humans do IRL. For instance, a Red Tulip (from Lloid) will always have Red/Yellow genes. When you cross-pollinate it with another Red Tulip, there is a small chance to obtain a Yellow Tulip with Yellow/Yellow genes, because of the Red Tulip’s yellow gene.

– Flowers can suffer mutations, resulting in a change of genes (will allow for other cross-pollination or breeding options).

– You can fail cross-pollination completely (very small chance).

– It’s better to use the flowers you buy from Lloid if you want to cross-pollinate and obtain a specific color, rather than the ones you harvest because that way you’ll know the flowers will have the exact genes you want (the ones you harvest could be mutated).

Color dominance in tulips:

  1. Red
  2. Yellow
  3. Orange
  4. Black
  5. Pink
  6. Purple
  7. White
  8. Blue

The Blue tulip color is the weak gene (recessive gene if you want to put it in scientific terms), which cannot be obtained from simple seeds – you will need to cross-pollinate and mutate until you obtain seeds with a blue gene (Black Tulips with black/pink gene could mutate into Purple Tulips with purple/blue genes). All the Blue tulips you obtain will be blue/blue because it’s a recessive gene and any other color will dominate over it.

Color dominance in pansies:

  1. Red / Yellow / Blue
  2. Coral
  3. Purple
  4. White

How to get every tulip color in Animal Crossing Pocket Camp

Red Tulips:

– Buy from Lloid

Yellow Tulips:

– Cross-pollinate two Red Tulips from Lloid -> 22.5% chance of Yellow Tulip Seeds.

– Cross-pollinate one Orange Tulip from Lloid onto a Yellow Tulip -> 90% chance of Yellow Tulip Seeds.

Orange Tulips:

– Buy from Lloid

Black Tulips:

– Cross-pollinate one Orange Tulip from Lloid onto another Orange Tulip from Lloid -> 15.7% chance of Black Tulip Seeds.

– Cross-pollinate one Orange Tulip from Lloid onto a Black Tulip -> 22.5% chance of Black Tulip Seeds.

Pink Tulips:

– Cross-pollinate a Red Tulip from Lloid onto an Orange Tulip from Lloid -> 15.7% chance of Pink Tulip Seeds.

– Cross-pollinate one Pink Tulip onto another Pink Tulip -> 67.5% chance of Pink Tulip Seeds.

– Cross-pollinate one Lloid Orange Tulip onto a Pink Tulip -> 45% chance of Pink Tulip Seeds.

Purple Tulips:

– Cross-pollinate one Pink Tulip onto a Black Tulip -> 15.7% chance of Purple Tulip Seeds.

– Cross-pollinate two Purple Tulips with purple/blue genes -> 60% chance of Purple Tulip Seeds. (and slight chance for blue tulip seeds)

– Cross-pollinate one Orange Tulip from Lloid onto a Purple Tulip -> 50% chance of Purple Tulip Seeds.

– Cross-pollinate one Orange Tulip from Lloid with a Purple Tulip from one of your friend’s gardens -> 22.5% chance of Purple Tulip Seeds.

White Tulips:

– Cross-pollinate one Orange Tulip from Lloid onto another Orange Tulip from Lloid -> 6.7% chance of White Tulip Seeds. (the white tulip resulted will be white/white)

– Cross-pollinate one Orange Tulip from Lloid onto a Blue Tulip -> 50% chance of White Tulip Seeds.

– Cross-pollinate an Orange Tulip (not from Lloid) with a Blue Tulip -> 33.3% chance of White Tulip Seeds.

– Cross-pollinate one Orange Tulip from Lloid onto a friend’s Blue Tulip -> 50% chance of White Tulip Seeds.

Blue Tulips:

**The process for these is a little bit more complex because you will need second-generation tulips, so you need to follow a few steps beforehand. Also, there are three methods:

Method 1:

  1. Cross-pollinate a Pink Tulip onto a Black Tulip -> 15.7% chance of Purple Tulip Seeds.

2. Cross-pollinate two Purple Tulips with one another -> 20% chance of Blue Tulip Seeds.

Method 2:

  1. Cross-pollinate one Orange Tulip from Lloid onto a Blue Tulip obtained from Step 2 to produce an equal chance of Orange Tulip Seeds and White Tulip Seeds, with a blue gene each.

2. Cross-pollinate a White Tulip (produced by cross-pollinating orange tulip with blue tulip) with a Blue Tulip -> 50% chance of Blue Tulip Seeds.

Method 3:

– Follow the steps from Method 2 with the Blue Tulips from one of your friends’ garden.

How to get every pansy color in Animal Crossing Pocket Camp

Red Pansies:

– Buy from Lloid

** You can cross-pollinate several types of pansies (red pansies with yellow panies, orange pansies with orange pansies and so on) in order to change the genes of the pansies. The ones from Lloid have red/white genes, and the ones you’d get by cross-pollinating other varieties can be red/yellow or red/red.

Yellow Pansies:

– Buy from Lloid

Blue Pansies:

– Cross-pollinate two Coral Pansies with one another -> 20.4% chance of Blue Pansy Seeds.

– Cross-pollinate two Red-Blue Pansies with one another -> 20% chance of Blue Pansy Seeds. (result will be pure blue/blue pansy)

– Cross-pollinate two Yellow-Blue Pansies with one another -> 15.6% chance of Blue Pansy Seeds. (result will be pure blue/blue pansy)

– Cross-pollinate a Red Pansy onto a friend’s Blue Pansy -> 45% chance of Blue Pansy Seeds.

– Cross-pollinate a Yellow Pansy onto a friend’s Blue Pansy -> 37.5% chance of Blue Pansy Seeds.

Coral Pansies:

– Cross-pollinate two Yellow Pansies from Lloid with one another -> 21.4% chance of Coral Pansy Seeds.

– Cross-Pollinate one Red Pansy from Lloid with a Coral Pansy -> 45% chance of Coral Pansy Seeds.

– Cross-Pollinate one Red Pansy (not from Lloid, but produced by you) with a Coral Pansy -> 45% chance of Coral Pansy Seeds.

– Cross-Pollinate one Red Pansy from Lloid onto a friend’s Coral Pansy to -> 45% chance of Coral Pansy Seeds.

Purple Pansies:

– Cross-pollinate a Red Pansy from Lloid onto a Blue Pansy.

White Pansies:

– Cross-pollinate a Red Pansy from LLoid onto a Yellow Pansy from Lloid -> 21% chance of White Pansy Seeds.

– Cross-pollinate two Red Pansies from Lloid with one another -> 25% chance of White Pansy Seeds.

Orange Pansies:

– Cross-pollinate a Red Pansy from Lloid onto a Yellow Pansy from Lloid -> 29% chance of Orange Pansy Seeds.

Red-Blue Pansies:

This is a two-step process:

1. Cross-pollinate two Coral Pansies with coral/white genes onto one another -> 20.4% chance of Blue Pansy Seeds.

2. Cross-pollinate a Red Pansy from Lloid with the Blue Pansy you obtained ->17.5% chance of Red-Blue Pansy Seeds.

Yellow-Blue Pansies:

This is also a two-step process:

1. Cross-pollinate two Coral Pansies with coral/white genes onto one another -> Blue Pansy Seeds.

2. Cross-pollinate a Yellow Pansy from Lloid onto the Blue Pansies you created -> 35% chance of Yellow-Blue Pansy Seeds.

This would conclude out Animal Crossing Pocket Camp flowers guide! Of course, there are tons of other flowers in the game – and if you got some from in-game events, you definitely know what I’m talking about. What would be some of your favorite flowers and why? I have been playing games ever since I can remember. My passion for video games and especially pixel graphic games must have started back when I was little, because every time I try a new game with pixel graphics I immediately fall addicted to it! I started writing about mobile games in November 2018, focusing on creating in-depth guides for the most popular titles out there. Other than games, I am also passionate about design, and working on my very own pixel game in my free time.
