Ailment models itself after roguelikes, so expect a lot of challenging action here. Let’s get started with our Ailment cheats, tips and tricks strategy guide!

Save the med kits!

You will sometimes find med kits inside lockers and boxes. These can be used to restore up to 50 health, so they are invaluable. Try not to use them if you are hardly injured, as it will go to waste if you only heal like 10 or so health. Just remember where the med kit is and backtrack if you end up biting off more than you can chew!

Switch guns often!

You can carry one of each type of gun. As the tutorial mentions, firing the same gun too much may result in it breaking, so it is important that you keep track of how much wear and tear is on your gun. A good habit to do is to switch your guns every now and then just so that you can prolong the life of your guns. We are not sure just how much this affects gun durability, but we have noticed that they last longer doing this.

Activate your Power Shield!

Once you pick up a Power Shield generator, you can activate it by tapping the shield button at the bottom right corner. Once active, a Power Shield will absorb a certain amount of damage before breaking, but it will stay active until it does so. This means that should you find another Power Shield but you already have one, activate it so that you can have a backup Power Shield!

Travel down the corridors slowly!

If you are moving carefully through the space ship, you can usually tell when you are about to be attacked by a horde. If you see the minimap disappear and the camera pull ahead, that usually means there are enemies nearby. Move down corridors slowly so that you can react in time! This is especially important if you come across a room that has lots of enemies with guns, as they can quickly tear through you if you are not careful. You can use the blast doors as cover!

Save your points!

As you take down enemies, you will gain points. Points are the main currency, and they can be used to purchase new guns or heal yourself on the spot. While these both sound very helpful, you should also try to hang onto some points. If you bite the dust, you will have to start the level over but you will lose some of your points.

The more you retry a level, the less your starting health becomes. It might get to the point where you will need to buy a health recovery, which costs 200 points. It is helpful to hang onto some points in case of emergency!

That’s all for Ailment! If you have any other tips or tricks to share, let us know in the comments below!
