Today we are going to cover all of the A Street Cat’s Tale tips and cheats to help you survive the streets after the tragic accident that left the kitty alone in the wide (pixel) world!

As adorable as this game is, it is by no means easy! You will have a lot of tasks to complete and you will have to cover everything the right way, otherwise it will be quite difficult to keep up with everything that you need to do.

And that is probably the reason why you are here – so without further ado, let’s not waste another second and dive right into the A Street Cat’s Tale tips and tricks that you need to know in order to survive for longer and become the best stray kitten!

Learn the basics of the game

The most important thing you need to learn in the game in order to survive more is to survive the streets. You will need food, and you will need to rest as well in order to progress through because the entire game play will last for 13 days.

I am going to write here below some of the most important features so that you will keep them in mind at all times and do your best to get through these days:

Always check the day – night meter

The day and night meter is located in the upper right side of the screen, and believe it or not, the time passes extremely quick in this game! So you should always try to do as many things as you can within the given time, otherwise you will reach the ending without having achieved what you desired.

A day will last for about 4-5 minutes, unless you are in the dialogue window with a NPC or have the game paused in any other way(will detail more about this below). So I would suggest that you do your best within this time to achieve as many things as possible, and go to bed at the right time so you will have enough energy the following day!

Keep in mind that if you run out of time for that day, and you don’t make it back to your home (where you initially started), you will fall asleep where you are and wake up at home the next day, but your meters will be at 20/90 so you won’t be able to achieve much.

Extra tip: If you want to advance an extra day, all you have to do is go to bed and it will be the following day!

Pause the game if needed

In this game, the time will not pass while you are in the dialogue window with a NPC, while you have the game paused or have a system or info window open. So if you want to go afk for a while, make sure that you pause the game otherwise you will probably end up dying of starvation or pass out on the streets at night.

I would suggest that if you want to do something that is not game-related, then you definitely either interact with a NPC or close the game, because if you take your eyes away from the game for several minutes, then you will end up passing quite a lot of days!

Don’t forget to eat

As I mentioned before, you will have a food meter as well as a HP meter. You should make sure that you eat when you see that your health is dropping low, because once your food meter reaches 0, then your health will start dropping instead.

When your HP meter reaches 0 as well, then you will die. That will make you have to restart the game from day 1, so it’s not really something that you want, right? So make sure that whenever you find food, carry it with you and once your health is low, eat it ASAP!

Where to find food?

You can find various foods at the trash usually, since there are quite a lot of trash cans scattered around the game. You can interact with them (and pretty much anything else in the game) by being next to them and when you see the paw icon, you can interact with the item / NPC.

I suggest that you keep a food with you all the time, just in case your hunger meter is dropping fast while you are exploring the town. That way you will always have an extra food with you just in case!

Upgrade your housing ASAP!

The cat NPC next to where your home is will offer you to upgrade your housing in exchange for bringing it the required items. While you explore the town, I suggest that you keep an eye out for the items that it asked for, and bring them whenever you find them. There will be three upgrades that you can make, each time requiring more difficult items to obtain!

The first two upgrades will raise your maximum HP and food meter, so you can go about for a longer time without having to eat. On top of that, the regen you get when sleeping (at home, not because you passed out on the streets) will be higher. The last upgrade will let you interact with all NPCs an additional time per day, which is a really great deal if you are looking to befriend as many as possible!

Don’t trust the cars

While there are streets and pedestrian crossings, you can choose to cross the street there, but one thing I must tell you is that you should never trust the cars! They can come from behind a corner and hit you, even if the lights are red!

So you can use the red lights as a helper to try and predict where a car is coming from, but since they won’t always stop, you should cross only after they have passed! This will help you survive a lot more, because they really don’t look at the lights.

Another thing worth mentioning is that the damage you take from getting hit by the cars will increase the more you get hit. So for instance if you get hit while your HP is full, you will not be affected too much – but if you get hit while you have low HP, then it will hurt a lot more!

Befriend everybody

It usually takes a lot of interactions to make somebody a friend, so that’s why I suggested that you upgrade your house ASAP. That way you will be able to interact more with the NPCs and allow for a much faster progress.

You should also avoid stealing and try to be nice to all the NPCs and animals that you meet, because the NPCs can give you awesome gifts, such as cans of food!

When you reached 7 hearts with a NPC, you will unlock the ending with that particular NPC, so since you can play the game multiple times, you should try to get to the ending with all of them because some are really amazing!

Once you reached intimacy level 2 with a NPC, you will be able to grab quests from them – so try to do as many as you can, and when in doubt, just talk to them to get a couple more hints!
