Breaking the Damage Limit in Crisis Core Reunion Detailed

Once Zack is strong enough, he’ll damage enemies for a whopping 9,999 damage. You can go beyond this limit if you break the damage limit, and the main way of doing this is through accessories.

When Zack’s damage limit is broken, he will be able to damage enemies up to a massive 99,999 damage. This is practically required for some endgame bosses and missions.

Here’s a complete list of accessories that allow Zack to break the damage limit:

  • Brutal
    • Stolen from Crazy Sword in mission 3-5-6, 7-6-4
    • Found in missions 7-4-6, 9-5-1, 9-6-3
  • Genji Gloves
    • Found in mission 9-6-4
  • Divine Slayer
    • Reward from mission 9-6-6
  • Heike Soul
    • Reward for clearing all missions

The earliest accessory you can get is the Brutal, which can be stolen from the Crazy Sword enemy in mission 3-5-6. This is the earliest point in the game that you can break the damage limit, though there are a few caveats to this.

The first is that the steal chance for the Brutal off the Crazy Sword is very low. It’s going to take repeated tries to get the Brutal, unless you get really lucky.

Secondly, even if you do break the damage limit, you might not even be hitting the normal damage limit at that point in the game. Zack probably isn’t that strong yet around those missions, so the damage limit’s effectiveness is reduced.

Either way, once you have any of these four accessories equipped, you’ll be able to deal damage past the normal 9,999 cap. You’ll need this in order to make a dent in some stronger enemies you’ll be facing near the end of the game.

Alternatively, if Zack’s Buster Sword Proficiency reaches a high enough level, his Battle Stance abilities will automatically break the damage limit, as seen in the featured image.

That’s how you break the damage limit in Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion. If you have any other tips or questions, let us know in the comments below!
