You will unlock a new topping slot for every 5 levels of your cookie, unlocking all of the slots at cookie level 30.

When you equip a certain number of toppings, you will be able to activate a Topping Set Effect. Depending on the topping, this effect will be different. Since upgrading toppings will get quite costly towards the end—especially with Epic toppings—you’ll want to ensure that you equip the exact set you want for the cookie of your choice.

There are several types of toppings with all different set effects:

You can mix and match 2 topping types if you choose to go for the Equip 2 and Equip 3 sets, or go for the Equip 5 which is going to give you a 5-toppings bonus. It all depends on the type of cookies you will use, but most of the time, you want to go for 5 pieces toppings set because the effect will be much better.

Where to Farm Toppings in Cookie Run: Kingdom

In the end game, you want to obtain Epic toppings for all of your cookies. The Epic toppings give you better stats, and they can be upgraded to +12 to give you additional stats. It’s not worth investing in the Rare toppings much, because these will only give you 2 extra stats (at +6 and +9), and you will end up spending too many Topping Pieces upgrading them.
