RollerCoaster Tycoon Touch Guide to Making More Money / Coins Quickly (RCT Touch)

Atari has just launched RollerCoaster Tycoon Touch on the App Store and the game is surprisingly good. Fans of the series are treated to a nice, freemium remake and even though there are diehard fans of the series that find reasons to complain, I personally believe that we should congratulate Atari for the game. We love playing it and have been playing it like crazy since its launch – and we’ve already shared with you some RCT Touch tips and tricks.

Today now we’re going to get a bit more in depth with various aspects of the game and we’ll start with RollerCoaster Tycoon Touch coins. Or money, or whatever you call the regular currency that you normally get from all those cool buildings you have in your theme park. How to get more RollerCoaster Tycoon Touch coins / money, actually – because that’s all that matters right now!

As you probably know already, especially early on in the game, you will quickly get to a point when you have zero coins left and you’re wondering what you did wrong. Well, you did nothing wrong (most likely), but we’re here to help you make sure that those moments are rare and less disappointing. So let’s find out how to make more money in RollerCoaster Tycoon Touch / RCT Touch!

1. Prepare for the missions
Missions in RCT Touch are timed and many will seem very difficult to complete. However, you can make them a bit easier following this trick: many missions will require you to upgrade a card, place a number of cards and other card-related things. For those especially, it’s worth keeping your cards not upgraded and in your hand. As soon as you get a mission, just place the required cards (or upgrade or whatever the requirements are) and you will get the mission done, bagging a nice reward hopefully of many coins. You won’t lose a lot either, but if you are worried about that, keep your rides and services upgraded and not the coasters and decorations.

2. Be smart when it comes to upgrading cards
Upgrading cards is not just a requirement for completing missions – it’s also something you want to do for your attractions to generate more coins and hold more coins for when you’re away. However, upgrading cards is extremely expensive. That’s why you want to place your money-producing cards first and upgrade them only when you have none left to place. The thinking behind this is very simple: an upgraded card won’t produce more than an extra attraction in your park!

3. Set Prices
Don’t forget to set the prices for your attractions. As soon as you place them, you should tap them and increase the price by 1. Don’t go any higher, as the peeps won’t be happy, but you can easily increase the price by one for all rides/shops you place and get no penalty.

4. Be smart with decorations
Decorations are extremely important when it comes to the amount of money each ride generates per hour. Therefore, you should make sure that you place them and your rides in such a way that a maximum number of decorations affects them. It would be ideal to start with this in mind early on, but probably you haven’t. I would suggest to go through a complete re-design of your park at level 9-10 and do the following:

Place all your restaurants and shops to one side – it doesn’t seem that this has any effect on income or peeps’ satisfaction. Then, group the rides together in large squares, leaving a + pattern between them. So in every corner you will have rides, while on the lines, you will have decorations to maximize the revenue an decoration bonus. Don’t forget about the decorations with a huge area of effect – have those nearby as well, in a central area dedicated to this type of decoration (as they will all have about 4 squares size). This will maximize profits and make everything a lot easier in terms of making more money in RCT Touch.

5. Marketing
Once you hit level 9, you will unlock the option to market your park. In other words, you can watch an ad and get 5% more peeps for the next 3 hours. Try to watch ads constantly in order to keep a steady flow of extra people visiting your park.

6. Log in often
You don’t have to log in very often, but often will help. If your money-producing buildings will max out, they will not accumulate extra coins and you can consider that lost revenue. Even more, they can break and cost you all the money they had accumulated. Therefore, try to log in often and collect revenue often in order to keep everything running smoothly and your pockets full of cash!

These would be our recommended methods for making more coins in Rollercoaster Tycoon Touch. If you have other strategies, don’t hesitate to share them with us in the comment section below.

RollerCoaster Tycoon Touch Guide to Making More Money / Coins Quickly (RCT Touch)

  1. I put TeePees next to the Helter Skelter & it reduced the Revenue :-/ … next time, if you’re going to do a report, include everything like which decorations go with which rides! :-/

  2. Yea, the moving all the restaurants to one side was terrible. All the peeps got mad faces and said they couldn’t find anywhere to eat and went home. The rating went from 83% to 72% within 5 minutes and the number of peeps went from 255 to 223.

  3. Guys if u played the game longer you know the peeps react that way anytime you move stuff around you have to give them sometime to get used to the new location and they will be fine ! Relax it’s still just a game and the writer was just trying to help geez

  4. I have squares set up for four 2×2 buildings, like bathrooms, some restaurants, etc, kinda like doing the + thing, then I have all of the rides along the outside edges and put the decorations behind them. The decorations still bring up satisfaction without wasting space inside the area where the peeps walk.

    • For me, currently, the peeps love my carousel. I’ve got two of them, so whenever that mission comes up, I just drop the price down to 0 on both, and boom, they’re satisfied. (I take my reward and up the prices again)

    • Upgrade cards for that ride and u can also lower the price of the ride from “good value” to “very cheap” They say a well decorated ride is key to peep satisfaction but it doesn’t really help. I’ve got 100% satisfaction on a bunch of rides just by doing those 2 things. I hope this helps

  5. I have rides not making any money as well. Twisted twizzler and tornado to be exact. No matter what I do, no revenue. Food stalls around them make plenty so do the other rides. Lots of themed decos. Peeps seem to walk into the rides then back out without riding. Getting rather annoyed. Have sent report and nothing.

  6. I am lvl 77 with over 900+ million in my bank and a 91% to 95% satisfaction rating. I am getting frustrated because when I collect my money, a bug is no longer adding it to my bank. I have most of my rides maxed at 200 point upgrades or mores. Their satisfaction rating is between 80% and 100% on nearly all my rides. I gather around 10+- mill per time I clear the board. Here is how:

    1) Use the new utility icon on the right and clean you park out, pocketing all the rides, decorations, etc. NOTE: this is currently undoable, so be ready to spend a lot of time rebuilding your park.

    2) Erase your roads and make sure all of the items were collected by the park designer. EXIT THE PARK DESIGNER.

    3) Shut the game down. Wait 1 min. Restart the game. I recommend this because a glitch causes the game to crash a lot right now if you don’t do this after you clean sweep your park.

    4) Before you put any roads down, start placing you utilities down on the board to provide the maximum coverage for each specific utility. Make sure you do not waste coverage by having it go over your current boarders. You will want to place them in square brick 4×4 blocks, using the same placement pattern with each ground to ensure your not leaving gaps in the coverage. This will also, once you unlock all the land patterns, give you the trophies for these. NOTE: The special function utilities like the shark and bear entertainers should be placed toward the back of the park only. They “renew” the timer on your peeps satisfaction ratio and let them continue to explore your park, spending money. Otherwise, your peeps will grow board and go home.

    5) Now, start placing your rides, shops, etc. the pattern you use is up to you. I alway place one of each family type of ride and food type in mirrored fashion to the other side of your park. By doing this, you ensure that the peeps can quickly get food and get to the family group of rides they want, either by going left or going right. And since placing high thrill rides next to food stalls does not make the peeps blow chunks in this game, I always intermix them for the highest satisfaction. Placing you decorations is as much by your style as my anything, but this article mentions a hollow cross shape pattern, and that works great. Just make sure to use the rarest purple things first, followed by uncommon orange-yellow items. Use the other items once you have placed even thing from the other groups. NOTE:Always keep an empty 2×2 block with 6 or more 1×1 rides around it. Using this, you can instantly complete missions using some 1×1 decorations. Always keep 4 of these 1×1 decorations in you parks bank for this purpose from each class of decoration.

    6) the one note I leave is this always make sure you have an info stall utility with its coverage area across the entire entry point for the park. Doing this will often prevent peeps from leaving the park, effectively bring them back in to spend more. Also, do not raise your ride prices above CHEAP ever. The extra money is not worth the loss of attendance. Peeps will not come if your charging too much.

    7) Be prepare to redesign your park every 10 levels or so. By this time, assuming you have been getting your free cards on the left of the interface and upgrading your rides, your areas of coverage will by this point overlap and you will be wasting the efficiency of these items.

    • Thank you so much for this information. You have answered many questions I had regarding design. To be honest, I wish I’d read this earlier … redesigning from scratch at level 52 is going to take ages, but hopefully worth it. Thanks again.

  7. I have almost twenty rides. Some of my top rides making 5000+ per hour. In my income i’m only making about 5000 on ride tickets per months….what am i not understanding here

  8. PEEP LOAD PEEP LOAD PEEP LOAD…. It is all about Peep Load. Get all of your rides and buildings to 100% Peep load then you are making the max for the ride or building at all times. I set all rides to the max of good value. Just like in real business extend your cost to your peeps. Each time you upgrade a building you can increase what you charge your peeps. I am level 51 have 100% total avg satisfaction. With almost 3k peeps in the park. Almost all of my buildings are are between level 5 and 6. Where you place your food and utilities are the most important for getting your park to 100% total avg satisfaction. There are only 3 factors for this Fun, Food and Hygiene. Fun is determined by rides and shops. upgrading these will increase the fun your peeps are having. Food satisfaction is based on the level of your carts, stands and restaurants and where they are placed throughout the park. Placing them in 1 location is not a good way to maximize satisfaction. You can start by placing them around the outside of the park and as the park grows you can move them to fill out the inside. It is easy to get to 80-90% food satisfaction the final 10-20% is going to be trial and error in placement. I have not seen any benefits from placing decorations. I have an overall avg 49% decorations and that is only because the missions that are offered required me to place them. Tale full advantage of the trade depot once you open it up. Trade hearts for rare cards so that you can unlock all the buildings in the game quickly. I hope this helps..

  9. ok so I just changed my park to be super compact so I could fit in my decorations and what not. even when the peeps are right next to a food stand, they will be angry about not finding any food. help?

  10. Hi. Yes. I have a looooot of restaurants, and carts, and bistros. A lot. And for that I had to upgraded to level 4-6, but the food is still in 49%.
Same as rides… So I’m getting kind of desperate. :/
