If you’ve played a base management game before, you know what to expect here. If you haven’t, read on to get some tips in our Clash of Kings: The West strategy guide!
1. Complete the quests!
You guessed it! Any base building genre game always has tons and tons of quests for you to complete, and Clash of Kings is no different. You’ll be given main quests that show up in the ticker near the bottom of the screen. You can tap on it for easy access to your next mainline quest. Completing these quests will reward you with an abundance of resources. You will also make sure your base stays up to snuff with constant upgrades. If you don’t have anything else to do, just follow the quests for an easy time!
2. Use speed ups until 10 minutes!
Since you’re going to be building a LOT, here’s a tip. Buildings are available for a free instant-complete once their build timers are below ten minutes. If you’re waiting on a large project to finish, you can spend the speed up items until the timer gets down to ten minutes or less. Then, you can back out and use the free instant complete. Take advantage of this trick to save your speed ups!
3. Keep your army stocked!
Always make sure that your barracks is training new troops, until you’re completely capped out. When it comes down to it strategy is rarely needed when you take on enemies and other players. You just need to have the bigger army, and the best way to do that is to always make sure your barracks is busy. Train every single type of unit and make sure you’re working towards the cap!
4. Keep researching!
If you’re already constructing new buildings and training new troops, there is one more thing you can get started on, and that’s research. Once you have a college, you can research various passive bonuses that provide helpful buffs to different parts of your base. If you’re familiar with these kinds of games, you know what to expect! You can get bonuses that reduce your build times, increase your army power, and more. Don’t think too hard about which one to get, as they’re all pretty useful. Like your barracks, just make sure your college is always busy!
5. Join an alliance!
You probably won’t have to go out of your way to join an alliance. The second we started the game, we were already getting invites from random alliances. It doesn’t really matter which one, just make sure you join one. You benefit from all sorts of things, and you’ll also be able to receive help from your alliance members. There’s no downside to being in an alliance, so join one as soon as possible!
