BitLife Pets Guide: Everything You Need to Know about Your Furry Friends in the Game

A brand new, major update has been launched for BitLife – Life Simulator. We now have pets in the game (and a ton of them as well). And as always, we’re here to share with you everything you need to know about them in our complete guide to Pets in BitLife.

This feature has been asked for since a very long time now and seeing how Candywriter (the game’s devs) have handled the situation really deserves a hattip. There’s a ton of new content in the game related to the pets and we absolutely love it. So let’s get this guide started!

How to get pets in BitLife – Life Simulator?

Sometimes, you will just start the new life with an existing pet – which is really cool since the options are endless here. It all depends on luck.

But no matter what, once you are 6 you can hit the Activities button and then hit the Pets button in order to be able to explore the entire world of fluffy friends.

You can get a new pet from the Animal Shelter, a Cat or Dog Breeder or from the Pet Store. There is a huge variety of pets available, but unfortunately everything but the Animal Shelter is available to Bitizens (aka paying players).

Later on, as you progress through the game, the Exotic Pet Dealer will become available – where you will find the craziest pets possible, but this is also available for Bitizens only. So, in other words, if you want to fully experience the Pets in the game, you will need to spend some money.

Finally, it’s worth mentioning that each pet has a certain cost associated with it. The rarer and more exotic, the more expensive it will be.

How do pets work in BitLife?

These furry animals are a bit like humans in the game: they can be accessed from the Relationships tab and you can (And should) interact with them constantly each year.

They also have four different stats (Health, Happiness, Smarts and Craziness). The latter stat should be as low as possible if you want a safe life with your pet, or higher if you’re up for some adventure.

I haven’t had any trouble with my pets so far, but apparently they can do some crazy things, the crazier they are. Sounds fun!

The biggest problem with pets is that they die… and it happens relatively often during your lifetime. And when that happens, you get a big mood hit afterwards.

You can also release your pet into the wild if you no longer want them (or if you want to prevent a mood drop from them dying). You can also try to sell them.

All in all, the new Pets feature in BitLife is really cool and I enjoy the sheer variety of animals available. If you’re a cat or a dog lover, you will have tons of breeds to choose from – probably all the breeds known to the world. And there are many surprises as well associated to the Pets you can own – including a brand new Pet-related ribbon.

What do you think about the Pets in the game? Have you managed to find one that’s truly unique? Or maybe a really crazy one that did some amazing things? Share your experiences with us in the comments section below.

    • Go and hit the ‘Activities’ button in the bottom right corner, and then scroll through the list until you get to pets. Then, if you do not have a bitizenship, just go to the animal shelter in the pets menu and choose a dog/cat/etc.

    • If you try to get a pet from the animal shelter and you fail the interview, you have probably done one of these things: Have four or more pets, abandoned a pet, or sold/ taken your pet to the shelter. If you have four pets, wait untill you have only three pets and you can adopt another one.
