New for iOS: The Drowning, Rymdkapsel, Kid Tripp and More

OK, before I go on and challenge you to say Rymdkapsel quickly, three times in a row, let me tell you something else: another great week for iOS gaming fans is about to begin now close to the start of the weekend. We have 11 great games hitting the iTunes store today and some of them will probably be up there at the top of the charts for a long time. Like Rymdkapsel, only if people could actually say that easily. We also have a great FPS, The Drowning, plus Kid Tripp, Droidscape Basilica and more!

So let’s check out below the new iOS releases of the week, with some amazing titles waiting to be discovered!

The Drowning

I remember seeing the trailer for this promising FPS awhile ago and I thought that it’s indeed something very smart. It seems to handle moving your character the way all similar games for iOS should, it looks great and it is free. I am still shocked to see that the game is available for free, but there you have it, it’s real! Check out the trailer to find out more about this absolutely must play!

Rymdkapsel

A pretty freaky minimalist game that blends tetris with base building and strategy, pixelated graphics and an experimental soundtrack. In other words, everything we tend to love about games and a little extra. There’s a bit of gameplay below, but actually playing Rymdkapsel will surely be a lot more fun:

Kid Tripp

Well, if we’re already in the zone of freaky retro stuff, let’s continue with Kid Tripp, a pretty hardcore platformer that seems to be here only for the most hardcore gamers. Insane difficulty, pixelated graphics and a hero that looks like the young version of Mario. Really, insane difficulty, just see for yourself below:

Droidscape Basilica

In the year 4057, a power-hungry Ecclesiarchy has plunged humanity into a new Dark Ages. One of few remaining Chronomancers dedicated to preserving the secrets of time-travel has been taken hostage on the gargantuan Basilica space station, and if he dies, an already dark world will get a lot darker. Only a small, unarmed droid named Bishop 7 can save him—and only with your help.

Knightmare Tower

Again a really original title for this week, Knightmare Tower is a fast paced endless runner game (although calling it “endless runner” is like calling Skyrim “that game where you can use spells”). Save princesses, hack tons of enemies and get rich in the process – these and much more are parts that make Knightmare Tower so amazing as a whole. Check out the trailer below to really understand what I am talking about:

Dropchord

Dropchord is a music-driven, score challenge game with mesmerizing visuals and an original electronic soundtrack! Influenced by music visualizers and score attack arcade games, Dropchord is an original experience that’ll test your dexterity while providing endless fun! Personally, I think it looks like a game that Double Fine came up with after a long night out when they mixed the wrong combination of pills, and in the gaming world that is not necessarily bad. It depends on what pills you’re on!

Police Patrol

police patrol game

Looks like a GTA for good guys. High speed chases, gunfights and arrests are all part of the game, a game where you can apparently lose if you decide to shoot the suspect first and ask the questions later. Aaaah, so saad!

Happy Dinos

happy dinons

It seems that there can’t be a week without an interesting time management / building game and this week we have Happy Dinos from Chillingo. Transform your island into a happy habitat with the help of Dino trainers Kaylee and Ace. Complete missions, decorate your island to keep your dinos happy and breed them to discover thousands of new hybrids. Wait… what did you say? THOUSANDS? Interesting, especially since the game is available for FREE!

Paradox Factor

paradox factor

Clearly not a game for everybody, Paradox Factor is a time-traveling adventure that gives you the chance to change your past… if you want to! It’s an interactive novel, so prepare to do a lot of reading if you decide to get the game!
