Sad news for Toki Tori 2 fans who were hoping to take their puzzle/platforming adventures on the go: the game’s developer Two Tribes has confirmed via Twitter that the planned iOS version of Toki Tori 2 has been officially cancelled.

Things seemed promising for the cute little platformer sequel after it successfully launched on the Nintendo Wii U back in April and then made the jump to PC via Steam in July. Two Tribes originally wanted to release Toki Tori 2 way back in December, 2012 but decided to delay it into 2013 in order to give the game one last coat of polish and playtesting. Sadly, overall poor sales have now forced Two Tribes to not only cancel Toki Tori 2’s iOS port but also the planned level editor which was slated to be released for the game’s Wii U version.

From the looks of things, Two Tribes is already moving on to other projects. A recent successful Nintendo certification means that the original Toki Tori will soon be available on the Wii U and Two Tribes has also begun working on a new 2D side-scrolling shooter called Rewind which, if successful, could one day make it to iOS.
