1. Don’t hold for too long!
Your targeting cursor moves surprisingly fast, so don’t let it catch you off guard. For most jumps you will only have to charge your jump for just a split second. Don’t hold it too long or else you’ll overshoot your jump!
2. Let it go all the way to reset!
If you do end up charging your jump for too long, don’t forget that if you continue to hold your finger down, your charging will not stop. If the targeting reticle ends up off the screen, your jump will be canceled and you can try again. Keep this in mind when you’re making trickier jumps!
3. Compensate for the moving platforms!
Soon into your journey you’ll run into moving platforms. You have to make sure that you compensate for the distance you need to travel and the distance the platforms will move. Don’t jump to where the platforms are, jump to where they will be.
4. Take your time!
There’s no need to rush in Hop Shot. There is no time limit, and there is no advance wall of doom behind you. Just you, your selected animal, and a bunch of platforms! Plan and time all of your jumps well. Take your time!
5. Watch some ads!
If you’re trying to unlock additional animals, you may want to watch an advertisement here and there. Every time you complete a run, you might get the option to watch an ad for 25 coins. If you’re really dying to get more animals, watching these is a nice way to rack up some coins.
6. Come back for your daily prize game!
You get to play the daily prize game for free once every day. The daily prize game has four randomly selected animals. If you manage to match three cards of an animal, that animal is yours to keep! Normally it costs 250 coins to play.
