So let’s not waste any time and let’s check out below some tips and tricks on how to make more money / get more caps in Fallout Shelter! And don’t forget, if you want even more, to check out our guide articles here and here.

First of, and arguably the easiest way to get more Caps is by completing quests. Check them out and focus on getting them done, one at a time. This will earn you some nice money, fast, especially if you manage to get a quest that rewards you with a Lunchbox since these can hold a ton of Caps.

Next, make sure you always have a Dweller out exploring the Wastelands. They will earn more Caps than they would working in the rooms. Two important things have to be considered here, though: first, the more time they spend exploring the Wastes, the better the rewards and second – they will need half the time they spent exploring to get back home. So if you are in a quick need of caps, you can’t really rush things here!

Rush rooms to get a bonus number of caps when you succeed. This is risky business, of course, so you should only do this when the chances of failure are low – and only if you really need the resources you’ll get from rushing the room.

Caps also come from things you don’t have direct control of, but which you should keep doing in order to increase your chances of getting them: leveling up Dwellers gives you a few Caps per level – so make sure you tap on them as soon as they have gained a new level. Collecting from rooms also rewards you with Caps every now and then – but this is random. However, if you increase the number of rooms that are producing something that you can collect, you increase your chances of getting more caps. Just make sure you don’t over-expand here!

  1. Ok…It’s not fully tested, and pretty much entirely depends on luck…but this is one I’ve figured out.

Set up a floor of alternating 1-tile lvl 1 cafeteria & water treatment rooms
    Staff them with 10/10 Agi/Lic & Per/Luc vault dwellers
set a Mr. Handy to patrol the floor
leave the game running for a few hours (might also want to have a floor of generators with a Mr. Handy on it too to keep from losing power)

The lvl 1 1-tile cafeteria has a cooldown of 40 seconds. water treatment has a cooldown of 50 seconds. Every time resources are collected, there is a chance to get caps. It boils down to roughly 600 caps every 10 minutes per floor built this way… … …slow as all get-out but it has been fairly consistent for me.

  2. Funny, it shows that the author is an apple fanboy, pretending the game only exists for iphone and ipad, but quite the reverse is true: due to a tiny 14% marketshare of ios, the game gets installed more on Android devices, both tablets and phones, a lot more. Apple fanboys probably love to live in their own cozy bubble, where everything (has to be) is apple and nothing else exists, but the large majority of the world buys into the open ecosystem that is android, both hardware and software.
