Best Hero Strategies in Overclock

We’re back with another guide on Overclock! Today, we’ll be looking at various guides on how to play each hero effectively. There are a total of six heroes in Overclock, each with their own unique playstyles. We’ve broken them down to their basics and now we have a full in-depth guide on our best strategies with each hero. Let’s get started with our best hero strategies in Overclock!

1. Oliver

Oliver is the well-rounded character in the game. His stats are pretty evenly balanced, with his health at 250, regen at 5, and speed at 565. He has access to assault rifles and sniper rifles. He has two unique weapons: the Dragon Slayzer and the Harpoon Gun. The dragon slayzer does splash damage and the harpoon gun leaves harpoons stuck in the enemy! His first ability is Ninja Vanish, which cloaks Oliver for 2 seconds. During this time he moves 60% faster. You can use this as an escape when things get dicey or if you want to get the jump on an opponent. His second ability is throwing a Katana, which does 120 damage in a straight line. Line up multiple opponents for maximum effect! His third ability autofires bullets for 5 seconds. You don’t have to worry about ammo when using this ability, so go crazy! Depending on your weapon of choice, you can play Oliver as a mid-ranged fighter with assault rifles, or as a sneaky sniper with his cloaking ability.

2. Wil

Wil has 300 health, 9 regen, and 535 speed. He’s a little slower than Oliver, but makes up for it with higher maximum health and regen. He has access to submachine guns and shotguns, which combined with his slightly beefier nature makes him perfect for close-range engagements. Our favorite way to play him is to equip a shotgun and be relentless. Energy Drink increase his damage temporarily, and it synergizes well with concentrated shotgun blasts. Barf Bag leaves a zone covered in noxious gas for 3 seconds, and it will damage enemies who enter it for 75 damage. It’s hard to use this effectively in the middle of a firefight, but it can be helpful for denying small areas. His best ability however has got to be Boom Box. The boom box emits an aura that grants you and your teammates 20% increased fire rate and 500% increased health regen for 6 seconds. Place this down when you rush into a team of enemies to become near unstoppable!

3. Astoria

Astoria is the most fragile character in the game with the lowest amount of health (220) and second lowest regen (4). However, she is also the fastest character with a base speed of 620! She can use snipers and assault rifles, but due to her slippery but fragile nature, we prefer to stay hidden in the backlines with our sniper rifles. Her abilities also encourage precision single strikes! Healing Grenade should be used when out of combat. It heals you for 75 health but it also slows you down by 35% for 2 seconds, which will almost guarantee death if you’re using it while trying to escape an enemy. Instead, use her Ice Traps often. The traps last for 45 seconds, and will deal 125 damage and a 70% slow for 2 seconds to any unsuspecting enemies. Her third ability is Charged Shot, which makes her next shot deal double damage. Charge up a shot, bait an enemy into your ice trap, then nail ’em with your sniper rifle for extreme damage!

4. Riggs

Riggs is the first unlockable character and also the bulkiest! He has a massive 400-point pool of health, but his regen is only 3, which is the lowest in the game. He also has 455 speed, which makes him the slowest character in the game. With his low speed but high health and access to miniguns and shotguns, he should be played as a frontliner who charges straight into the fights. His speed is a bit of drawback for the shotgun, so our favorite weapon with him is the minigun. This is sort of offset though by his first ability, Dash, which makes him dash a short distance and deal 120 damage to anything he collides with. This can be used defensively and offensively, so don’t forget about it. Two Hand Salute makes Riggs throw out a devastating punch, which damages enemies in a line for 160 damage. Be careful when using Armed Force, as this locks down Riggs to the spot he uses it for 5 seconds. Armed Force increases your armor by 50% and health regen by 200%. This will make you incredibly hard to kill, and it’ll also attract the attention of a lot of enemies. Use this so that the rest of your team can pick off enemies while they’re concentrated on you!

5. Graham

Graham, the lovable scruffy mechanic, has 275 health, 6 regen, and 525 speed. He can wield submachine guns and shotguns. Thunderdome raises a dome that blocks projectiles and slows enemies inside it by 60% for 4.5 seconds. Healing Turret plants a turret with 150 health that lasts 20 seconds. This turret will heal nearby players for 60 health per second. Turret, on the other hand, will deal 30 damage per shot to nearby enemies. It also has 150 health but lasts 15 seconds. With mid to short range weapons, Graham is best played as a mid range support hero. Help your team out with your turrets and thunderdome, and get in some shots while you’re at it. Just don’t be the center of attention; in fact, staying back and letting your turrets do most of the work is a plausible strategy.

6. Tillman

Tillman has 320 health, 5 regen, and 505 speed. His stats are closest to Wil, and he can use miniguns and rocket launchers! Rocket launchers deal explosive splash damage, so it’s great for teams clumped up together. Overdrive increases your movement speed by 25% for 3.5 seconds. It’s great for escaping a sticky situation or darting around for perfect rocket launcher set ups. Hand Gatling Guns shoots energy bullets for 15 damage per shot. Use this if you’re out of rockets and don’t have time to reload. Nuke marks an area on the ground and shortly after drops a nuke, which deals a whopping 225 damage to anyone caught in the blast. Our favorite way to play Tillman is to use overdrive help us blast the enemy team with our rocket launcher, and using nuke to finish enemies off.
